Why Choose Mexico Assisted Living?

Hello, I am Joshua Ketner (Marketing Director at MXAL). The idea for Mexico Assisted Living started 5 years ago. I was reading news stories on the internet and came across one titled, “Man Outsources Parents.” The title made me laugh a little and I had to read more. It turns out that the man in the story had been searching for assisted living for his parents, but could not afford the costs. So he searched for alternatives and came up with the idea that since companies were outsourcing their call centers and other work to India, that he should look there. India is very well known for producing quality doctors and he found a great place for his parents. The idea stuck with me and it opened my eyes to what I thought was the only problem with his solution, the distance. It made me ask the questions, “could this be done in Mexico?” I have spent the last 5 years working in the adult care industry and living in Mexico to find the answer. MXAL is the culmination of my experiences as a care giver at Aegis of Redmond, Assisted living in Redmond, WA and time working as an advisor at the #1 adult care placement agency in the USA, A Place For Mom.
During these last 5 years I have discovered all of the positives and negatives of Assisted Living in Mexico. I have come to the conclusion that the positives far outweigh the negatives and have finally decided to open MXAL in Puerto Vallarta.
Our community is a partnership with the Las Palmas Hotel in beautiful Puerto Vallarta . We have 225 rooms in this beachfront resort. We have 2 huge dining areas that overlook the beach. We have decided to structure our community similar to an all inclusive hotel. We offer 3 meals per day and they are all done in a buffet style. We have master chefs that ensure you have amazing food and are happy to take resident suggestions for meals. For residents with special diet requirements we can prepare whatever is needed. We have an activity director that makes sure our residents are entertained and never bored. Residents can participate as much or as little as they like. Our experience in senior care has us focused on stimulating our residents to continue to learn and use their brains. This is the best way to avoid Alzheimer’s or dementia.  Puerto Vallarta offers so much to our residents. There are thousands of restaurants, costco, walmart, grand shopping malls, jungle adventures, fishing and so much to explore. You will not be disappointed by how much we offer and at such a great price!
